There is a discussion over on Okayplayer about who would be the first rapper to make an Usain Bolt reference as well as who was the first rapper to reference Michael Phelps.
Wale wanted to put it out there that on his 2005 demo track “Spectacular” featuring DC’s finest, Raheem DeVaughn, he shouted out the Olympic champion. “Spectacular” ended up on his 2nd mixtape, PAINT A PICTURE (technically 3rd if you could Prolly Know Me From The Rap)Click HERE to download “Spectacular” f. Raheem DeVaughn of his PAINT A PICTURE MIXTAPE

[…] There is an interesting conversation about who will be the first rapper to use Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt in a rhyme on Okayplayer (could Wayne say “I run tracks like Usain, plus I Rack em like Hussein” soon?). However, Wale’s management is pointing out that DC rapper was the first to use 8 time gold medalist and apparent Young Joc fan Michael Phelps on a demo track with Raheem DeVaughn in 2005. Granted this was after Phelps won gold in Athens, but considering the fact that he never really entered into the American conciousness until this year means that Wale gets shine for yet another obscure sports refrence.
