I heard from a shoe designer at Nike that Kanye got Nike to build him some prototypes of the shoes Michael J. Fox wore in BACK TO THE FUTURE II. I was so mad.

However, I recently found out that was not the case and in fact Kanye got his own limited edition shoe, the Air Yeezy. This isn’t a limited Dunk or SB…this is his own shoe. So powerful. He wore them at the Grammys.

They look like a combination of the Ato Matsumoto

And maybe a Nike Flight 89?

You can see the exposed air bubble on the side a la the Flight 89, Jordan 3 and Jordan IV (Kanye’s favorite Jordan). Nike doesn’t put that air bubble on any new sneakers, only retros. This shoe is sick though. Not sure if it will ever be released.
