1 Comments Reed’s Ginger Beer

Posted by The Elitaste on 27 May 2008

This stuff is great. I’m a huge ginger beer fan; the spicier the better. This is a perfect balance between sweet and spicy. It kinda makes you cough a little but to me that’s the sign of a good ginger beer.

I’m all about trying new beverages when I leave the US. Foreign sodas are usually pretty interesting. If you’ve ever been to Coca Cola headquarters in Atlanta, at the end of the tour, there is a room with almost every soda Coke makes from around the world. Like Japanese Lychee nut soda. Or South African Ginger Cola. Before I moved from Atlanta after college, I made a special trip to the Coke museum just to experience this room as I’d heard about it from many people.

For the most party, being adventurous with foreign soda is great, however, when I was in Italy, I tried this cherry Pelligrino. It was quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever had.

The funniest thing was, it was during a school trip in college and everyone insisted on trying it after I gagged from the taste and declared, “oh my god, this is the worst soda I’ve ever had.” I then had other kids coming up to me being like “no way, let me try it.” Crazy right?

yo Wale if you like your Ginger Beer spicy you NEED to check out Blenheim, this little independent ginger beer bottling company in South Carolina. they don’t have a website to order from, but you can call their hotline and order a few cases, they ship anywhere. If you like hot ginger beer, you owe it to yourself to try it out, I have had Reed’s and this Blenheim stuff is the best I have ever tasted.
