Justice – DVNO
They took the video off youtube. My appreciation for this song has grown recently once I listened to the lyrics. According to band member Xavier de Rosnay, “DVNO” stands for “Divino.” de Rosnay states, “In every suburb of the world, in every city, there’s always a nightclub called El Divino… Clubs where you have to wear a white shirt to get in.”
Lyrics
It’s always the same
I’m always ashamed
Storytelling when i can’t come in
But one more time
I insist and I swear
I mean no offense
But you better learn to read
it’s all about membership
I spell it for the young and old
Ugly girls and boys
I put you on my list
And make you clap to this
It’s mayhem or just an ego trip
But only one can win
And soon you’ll say that’s him
D V N O
Four capital letters
Printed in gold
Because details make the girls sweat even more
while they’re shaking their belt
No need to ask my name
to figure out how cool I am
Can anyone read, anyone feel
That I’m losing my patience
I just came here to bounce
Ladies out west, they all know I’m coming
I’m losing my patience
I just came here to bounce
