Article written by the brilliant The Elitaste on the , in the Announcements category

Interview by Jamie Benson
Just a few months ago, elitaste premiered what appeared to be a regular-old mixtape track. Wale fans received a bit surprise when they opened the mp3, a song called “The Bomb,” which belonged to fellow-DC rapper Southeast Slim. The bigger surprise, however, will come after reading this exclusive interview with the rapper who is named after his neighborhood and recently released the aptly-titled That Dope mixtape. Read ahead for some insight from the artist who remains dedicated to delivering the best in underground hip-hop.

Slim, you recently garnered some buzz after you dropped “The Bomb” with Wale and being featured on imeem’s Keys to the City didn’t hurt, either. Before we go any further, let’s get a proper introduction into the life of Southeast Slim. Editor’s Note: If you have not downloaded THE BOMB, please do so immediately. It’s the bomb. (more…)

1 Comments Anthony Kiedis

Article written by the brilliant The Elitaste on the 19 Aug 2008 , in the Announcements category

I’m about 100 pages into Anthony Kiedis’ autobiography, Scar Tissue, and I gotta say, it’s a very good read. For those who don’t know, Kiedis is the lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love their first album, Freaky Styley, as it was produced by George Clinto and was very much a prism for a number of different musical genres.

2 Comments Got tickets?

Article written by the brilliant The Elitaste on the 16 Aug 2008 , in the Announcements category

This next one is prolly one of the best concerts I ever went to…Roger Troutman aka Zapp in 1997. He was murdered two years later.

Oh man…Prince Musicology Tour…saw him four times, twice in Boston and twice in ATL. This ticket is from when I sat first row. Wow.

And I remember this UCLA game against OSU. This was my first time seeing Brent Barry play and man, was he something in college. I got the back of the ticket autographed by the great John Wooden too.

And Lakers v Bulls from 1997? Jordan had 27 points this game, Pippen had 22. Lakers won 106-90. Kobe played 13 minutes. My how times have changed

I was going through an old box of mine and found a bunch of old tickets I had saved. Man does this bring back memories. Got some corresponding clips after the jump (more…)

My boy Alex put me onto this song. It’s kinda old but the song is dope. Jury is still out on the video though. The song is not only very catchy but the lyrics are pretty on point; especially the chorus.
