I used to love this movie when I was a kid. I actually have it on DVD too. Captain EO is a 3-D film formerly shown at Disney theme parks. The film stars Michael Jackson. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, executive-produced by George Lucas, choreographed by Jeffrey Hornaday, photographed by Peter Anderson, produced by Rusty Lemorande, and written by Lemorande, Lucas and Coppola. The score was written by James Horner, and featured two songs (”We Are Here to Change the World” and “Another Part of Me”) by Michael Jackson. The Supreme Leader was played by Anjelica Huston. Famed cinematographer Vittorio Storaro acted as visual consultant. It opened at Disneyland on September 18, 1986 and closed April 7, 1997. It opened at Epcot on September 12, 1986 and closed July 6, 1994.
I’m sure most of yall know Queen because of “Bohemian Rhapsody” but man, they might be one of my favorite bands of all time along with Talking Heads. I’d actually never seen this video until today but “Radio Ga Ga” is probably my favorite Queen song of all time. Thought you guys might enjoy. Listen to what he’s talking about. Funny that not much has changed almost 30 years later. Check out footage of Queen at LiveAid from 1985. Freddie Mercury (RIP) is killing it. His swag is like unparalleled. Look at all those people clapping along in unison.
This video was so sick. I see elements of this in Tabi’s Beat Rock video (subtitles asking “why does he run”)
Kinda reminds me of this Erick Sermon joint?
This movie might have changed my life. This and RHYME AND REASON. Wow. Somehow I went to the premiere of this movie. Somehow my parents let my 13 year old ass go out on a school night with a babysitter to this premiere. Only person I really remember seeing there was Warren G. But this movie was incredible. Biggie’s interviews would end up going down in history! I know my friend Hillary remembers this!
33 Years ago this month, War’s “Lowrider” was number 1 on the Billboard R&B Charts. This song is timeless. Is anyone making music this rich today?
At the height of the American beach volleyball phenomenon, the movie business blessed us with a gem of a movie called SideOut. Starring C. Thomas Howell and Kathy Ireland (and Bernie from Weekend At Bernie’s), SideOut is an amazing time machine of a movie. Watch it if you can. Very entertaining.
