My first talk went really well last night. I put together a powerpoint presentation however, they didn’t have the proper media hook up so I kinda just winged it. There was a group of about 30 students and they all seemed very interested which was nice. I gave a brief chronology of my experience with Wale from the beginning up until now. I then presented them with my Phase Zero pyramid (see below) and explained Phase Zero v. tastemakers v. early adopters v. followers. I explained that if they are the ones that people are always asking about the hot new shit, or if they feel like they are always up on something before everyone else, then they are probably a tastemaker and rather just look at that characteristic as a novelty, they should follow their instincts and try to incorporate that into their career after college. I told them that I was in college just 4 years ago and had no idea what it meant to “follow my dreams” and always thought it sounded corny when I was told that, however, the people who usually say that, are the ones who followed their dreams and until you do it, you have no idea what that means. I plan on refining my talk and trying to do this more often, as I think it would have done me good to hear someone like myself speak when I was in college. If you are interested in booking me to speak at your school, you can email booking@elitaste.com. I will post some video from the talk soon.

SFW stands for Safe For Work. I guess some promoter Diesel put together this video for an 18 city simultaneous party in October. Pretty genius if you ask me. Video after the hump (more…)
Love his sense of humor
Not gonna lie, I got goosebumps at the end when the Duran Duran “Notorious” sample started kicking in. This looks good. Check out the site www.notorious09.com
I used to be a Dane Cook fan, then he kinda became not funny. I met him the other night in LA and was reminded of my favorite bit of his complete with animation!
Had dinner with Johnny Cupcakes tonight. Bought my first shirt and hoodie in 2004. It’s been so cool to see him grow his dream. We ended up chilling for like 2 hours. If you’ve never checked his stuff out, do so immediately www.johnnycupcakes.com
