2 Comments Persols

I got my Persols back in February to replace my older glasses which were damaged by a drunk homeless man. A few weeks ago Jay-Z is rocking them, along with a new hairstyle which seems to suit him.
Next thing I see Pharrell wearing them Tom Ford’s that look like Persols (thanks Paul!) tonight on ConcreteLoop

Trying to figure out where they land on the pyramid right now. The reason why I appreciate people like Jay-Z and Pharrell rocking Persols is because, when talking about glasses, they are far less expensive ($200-$300) than the stuff they normally rock (LV, Marc Jacobs, etc). This leads me to believe they truly appreciate the styling and craftsmanship of Persol.

0 Comments DJ Clue f. Eminem, Method Man & Royce 5′9″ “What The Beat”

Posted by The Elitaste on the 28 Sep 2008, in Announcements

Very underrated yet powerful collabo from 2000. It’s funny to think that DJ Clue was like the late 90’s DJ Khaled. How sick would that be as an SAT analogy question? It sucks that Royce never blew up like he should because I think he’s got the goods. I highly recommend his mixtape The Bar Exam. That is truly one of the best mixtapes I’ve ever heard.

0 Comments Attic Crew f. T.I. “Dope Boy Fresh”

Posted by The Elitaste on the 28 Sep 2008, in Announcements

This was off a pretty solid album from the Attic Crew (ATL) back in 2003 (I think) featuring a soon-to-be-superstar T.I. Remains one of my favorite southern rap songs ever and definitely one of my top T.I. songs. It has also been copied endlessly by everyone fron Jay-Z to Three 6 Mafia.

0 Comments High School High

Was gonna go see a movie tonight but it got too late and what do you know, High School High is on.

And the soundtrack had the joint “Wu Wear” on it…

looking back at this video, it’s crazy that all the members got solo deals and also crazy to see how much they cared about their outfits back then. Not saying there aren’t artists now who care just as much, but a lot of these dudes kinda gave up on dressing with the exception of maybe Ghost and Meth.

The Rick Hoffman story continues with consumer watchdog Barry Reeves testing Hoffman’s claims in this classic episode of “I Call Foul.” How amazing is the theme song? Inspired by the “Fight Back” theme song(it’s in the bottom left corner of the page). Video after the jump. (more…)
